Elaine A. (Burkey) Ellison, 77 of Temperance, MI, died Monday, January 15, 2018, in her home surrounded by her loving family.   Born June 21, 1940, in Monroe, Michigan, she was the daughter of Norman A. and Hildagarde (Hoffman) Burkey.  A 1958 graduate from St. Mary’s Academy School in Monroe, MI, she married Olis Ellison on August 18, 1962.  She enjoyed flower gardening and arranging, cake decorating, camping and traveling.  She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance, MI.

Surviving are her loving husband of 55 years, Olis; children, Gail (Terry) Hayward, Norman Ellison and Kathy Wolf; brothers, Kenneth (Mary) Burkey and Vince (Bonnie) Burkey; sister, Kathy (Tom) Welter; grandchildren, Holly, Brittney, Courtney, Jaren and Erich. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Norman Burkey.

Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Friday, January 19, 2018, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 8330 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, MI, where she will lie in state after 10:00 am.  Interment will be private.
